Our preparation process goes far beyond industry norms – What follows outlines the intensive inspection, detailing, and restoration work carried out as part of the Automotive Addiction preparation standard.
This BMW M5 G90 AUTOID Build is new into stock and has entered our innovative, industry-leading preparation process, which involves up to 100-hours of labour-intensive work when completed, designed to satisfy even the most pedantic automotive enthusiast. At every stage, our exacting standards must be met before this Midnight Purple BMW M5 is released following preparation by Automotive Addiction.
The first phase of this process is our crucial pre-sale inspections, a comprehensive five-part assessment. This includes a deep-dive diagnostic inspection to verify mileage authenticity, review the launch-control counter, and identify any stored fault codes. This is followed by a 260-point mechanical inspection and road test to ensure that what lies beneath the paintwork meets the highest standards of mechanical integrity.
An in-depth 150-point visual inspection of all exterior and interior surfaces is then carried out, including bodywork, paintwork, wheels, glass, and interior materials. We also complete a rigorous paint depth analysis, allowing us to verify the originality of the paintwork and body panels. Finally, a service and maintenance inspection is conducted to determine whether any time or mileage-sensitive servicing, maintenance, or manufacturer recall items require attention before progressing to our professional pre-sale detailing work.
This Modified G90 M5 has successfully passed all pre-sale inspections, enabling us to confidently offer this example for sale today, and is now progressing through the remaining stages of preparation prior to delivery.
Prior to delivery, up to 60-hours of meticulous detailing preparation will be completed by our highly skilled, in-house professional detailers, each with over 10 years of experience. This £1,500 worth of work is carried out free of charge and will include a deep wheels-off decontamination cleanse, pre-paint correction preparation, brake disc centre refurbishment, exhaust system polishing, steam cleaning of intricate areas, and underbody and wheel arch rejuvenation. This will be followed by our paint protection film decontamination. Interior surfaces will be restored with equal precision, ensuring this Modified G90 M5 is presented in the most optimal condition possible, regardless of age or mileage.
The objective is to achieve a finish that often surpasses factory standards when new — because we believe a vehicle should look as exceptional as it feels to drive.

The arrival of BMW’s latest G90 M5 has sparked plenty of debate amongst enthusiasts, but very few examples have generated as much attention as this one. Built and owned from new by AUTOID as their flagship G90 M5 showcase vehicle and sourced directly by us from AUTOID following completion of their development programme, this one-owner example combines over £46,000 of professionally commissioned modifications, documented provenance and a specification unlike anything else currently available on the market. Finished in Midnight Purple Paint Protection Film inspired by the legendary Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 and sitting on HRE forged monoblock wheels beneath a full carbon-fibre aerodynamic package, this is a G90 M5 that turns heads long before its 860PS performance credentials are discovered. Examples combining this level of investment, provenance and carefully curated modifications rarely become available.
Built to demonstrate AUTOID’s vision for BMW’s latest M5 platform, this example quickly became one of the most recognised modified G90 M5s in the UK and helped establish many of the visual styling trends now seen throughout the growing G90 community. Originally specified at over £116,000 from BMW before modifications and subsequently enhanced with a further £46,215 of professionally commissioned upgrades, the build centres around HRE forged monoblock wheels, an AUTOID OEM+ stance package, a TREVORA PR-1 carbon-fibre aerodynamic package, Eventuri carbon-fibre intake system, Milltek valved exhaust system and a full Midnight Purple Paint Protection Film conversion. The complete transformation has been documented through AUTOID’s dedicated YouTube build series, creating a level of provenance and transparency rarely associated with modified vehicles.
Power comes from BMW’s latest M Hybrid Performance powertrain, combining a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with electric motor assistance and further enhanced by a Stage 2 engine calibration producing a dyno-proven 860PS and 1,242Nm. Despite its extraordinary performance credentials, this M5 retains the everyday usability expected of BMW’s flagship performance saloon, benefitting from a Panoramic Glass Roof, Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System, Extended Merino Leather Interior, Head-Up Display, Adaptive LED Headlights and BMW’s latest iDrive 8.5 infotainment system. Having covered just 8,750 miles from new, it remains accompanied by a full BMW Main Dealer service history, completed running-in service and BMW Manufacturer Warranty until November 2027.
Following completion of AUTOID’s ownership and development programme, we sourced this example directly from AUTOID as part of a collaboration between our businesses, with AUTOID subsequently purchasing their next project vehicle from us, an Audi RS6 C8. The vehicle has now entered our 100-hour Pre-Sale Preparation Process, beginning with a comprehensive five-part inspection including dealer-level diagnostic verification, mechanical inspection, road test, visual assessment and paint depth analysis. The original Marina Bay Blue factory paintwork beneath the current Midnight Purple Paint Protection Film conversion has been verified using consistent paint depth readings across all body panels, whilst mileage has been authenticated using BMW dealer-level diagnostics.
