Audi was one of the earliest pioneers of the super estate. Its 1994 RS2 Avant, co-developed with Porsche, was powered by a 311bhp 2.2-litre, 5-cylinder 20v turbo and combined blistering performance with quattro all-wheel drive capability and enough room to comfortably transport a family of four plus their luggage across any continent you’d care to mention.
